My role
Lead editor on twenty-four films
I was the lead editor on a team that created 24 short films celebrating the A–Z of the first 50 years of television in Australia.
The year the Olympics came to Melbourne was also the year TV arrived in the lives of Australians. We've seen ourselves in Kylie Mole and Kath and Kim, and tuned in for everything from Hey Hey to Hey Dad. Personalities like Graham Kennedy, Bert Newton and Molly Meldrum became Australian icons.
The exhibition
A wall of 750 televisions
Through moments like Norman Gunston's coverage of the Whitlam dismissal and sporting triumphs at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, TV has reflected our history and shaped our national identity.
Packed with hundreds of classic clips and rare objects, plus a wall of 750 televisions and weekly talks with industry stars and insiders, TV50 took visitors on a nostalgic journey and looked ahead to interactive, online and mobile television.
